Bodybuilding Tips, Avoid Overtraining if You Want to See Results

Are you trying to get yourself into good shape? If so, there is a good chance that you are spending hours at the gym working with your intense weightlifting. When you want to get good results, there are some important things to keep in mid.

Remember that if you want to see the results that are so important to you, you need to avoid overtraining. Overtraining is something that occurs if you work to hard. You are not going to give your body the rest that it needs and you’ll find that weightlifting sessions that go too far are going to hold you back rather than push you forward.

To understand overtraining, you first have to understand that when you are “building” muscle, you’re actually breaking muscle down. You’re not building the muscle in the gym, really. Instead, what you’re doing is breaking down muscle in the gym and producing tiny injuries in the muscle that then must heal and repair.

What you should take from this experience is that the tears that have healed and built up are tougher than the tissue that was there before. When you move forward and stretch your muscle, you will find that you need to let your body repair so you can get the building stage.

If you engage in too much training, you are essentially not giving your body time to heal. If your workouts are coming along too quickly and too often, you are actually stopping muscle from being built.

What are the symptoms of overtraining and how can you recognize if you are doing it? Catching yourself before it gets out of hand is essential.

First of all, when you are overtraining, you will be working really hard, but you won’t be building much if any muscle. That’s the first thing you’ll probably notice. If you keep going with overtraining, though, you’re probably going to notice other symptoms, too.

One of the symptoms of overtraining involve seeing a drop in your testosterone level. This is a natural result of what happens if your body does not get enough time to recover.

You might get fatter. As counterintuitive as that sounds. You might gain weight you don’t want to, in the form of fat. That’s because if you keep overtraining, not only will you be breaking down muscle without building it back up, but you also increase your levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that makes your body want to retain fat.

You might find yourself getting sick more often and much more easily than usual. When you overtrain, your immune system reacts by becoming weaker. So if you find yourself getting colds and flu more easily, slow down. A good bodybuilding regimen should make you less susceptible to colds and flu, not more so.

Are you losing muscle mass? When you overtrain, your muscles are going to suffer for it as much as any other part of you. Remember that you are training to get results. Essentially, a good bodybuilding regimen is going to be ideal when you want to avoid the symptoms that go with muscle loss while still getting the body that you want.

Now that we have identified the problem, let’s look at the solution. First, remember that you are going to need rest and nutrition. When you do one day of weigh training, follow it up with a day of rest.

Work out one day and then do some light cardio when you work out on your rest days. Remember that you should rest your body between the heavy duty lifting that comes along with it.

Also remember that the food that you eat is going to be essential as well. Your body cannot build itself up without good materials, so make sure that you get lots of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins into your diet. This can really make all the difference when you want to look good and feel good.

Room Preparation Tips for Professional Voiceovers

Posted by Carla Rondeau under: Business.

by Tiffany Mccomas

Creating a professional voice over project on your own can be achieved using computer programs and tools. This will allow you to save on the cost of hiring a videographer or a production team. You just need to hire talents and have a script and you are all set to record.

Preparation is vital to produce a professional quality voiceover piece. In particular, you initially need to setup the room in which you’ll record in. Here are some useful tips to do just that.

1. Check all your equipment. Booking the voiceover talent for the project and then wasting several hours testing equipment will cost you. Jay Rose, the author of the book “Producing Great Sound for Digital Video” suggests that you make sure you get the right kind of equipment and test it well before production day. Even testing it a few hours before production time can reduce unforeseen delays.

2. Test a room for echoes. You can find out if a room creates an echo effect by doing some test records in it. Close all doors, windows and check all your equipments to eliminate or at least minimize echoes.

3. Consider using background music. In a professional voiceover, there should not be any noise between the narrator and the listener. You want to create an audio space that sounds as if the narrator is having a face-to-face conversation with the audience. If you have a lot of ‘white noise’, consider adding background music.

4. Find the best position in the room for the recording. There are no rules about where to position the microphone, so feel free to move the mic setup into different areas of the room to get the right sound. You don’t want to record when the sounds seem hollow or filtered in any way. Move around to find the best fit.

5. Don’t stress on ambient noises. A lot of things produce ambient noises and most them are out of our control. Ambient noises, e.g. outside traffic and chatter, don’t always go through your microphone. However, consider having a high-pass filter on your mic for a cleaner recording when these noises are gravely affecting your project.

6. Quiet vents, air conditioners and computer fans. If you’re working in a very small space, you may have left computers or an A/C on during the recording. Sounds from these machines can cause some turbulence for your recording, so it’s a good idea to turn them off for as long as possible during each recording segment.

Also monitor always the recording session in real-time using your headphones. Utilize playback functions in a seperate room to ensure that all is in order. Doing this will allow you to solve problems real-time and spare you doing retakes.
